Health, Safety & Professional Standards

Safe working is part of service quality, not an afterthought.

Cromwell Workforce works to protect clients, staff, building users and the environments entrusted to us. Our service planning considers safe systems of work, product use, equipment, access, manual handling and site-specific risks.

  • Site-specific risk assessment

Each site is assessed for its own risks — access, out-of-hours working, lone working, slip risks and anything unusual about the building — before the first shift rather than after an incident.

  • COSHH awareness and safe chemical use

Operatives are trained in the products they use: correct dilution, contact time, ventilation, storage and what to do if something goes wrong.

  • PPE and equipment checks

Appropriate PPE is issued for the task, and equipment is checked and used according to safe working practice. Using them is a condition of the job, not a suggestion.

  • Clear instructions and task allocation

People are told what the task is, what the standard is and who to ask. Most safety failures in cleaning start as an unclear instruction.

  • Safeguarding awareness

For community and public-facing environments, teams are briefed on safeguarding awareness and on conduct around the people using the building.

  • Supervision and development

Ongoing professional development and supervision, so standards are maintained by people who are actually being supported to maintain them.
